Adele to reportedly make acting debut in Xavier Dolan film
Screen Daily say she is “being lined up for a small supporting role” in The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.
In a reunion with her “Hello” video director.
The Death and Life of John F. Donovan stars Jessica Chastain, Kit Harington, Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates.
As we previously reported, Cannes Jury Prize-winning director Xavier Dolan made Adele feel so comfortable on the set of Hello that she said she wanted to pursue acting… and now she has her chance. The plot focusses on an American actor who finds himself at the centre of a storm of media outrage when his correspondence with an 11 year old is made public by a gossip columnist.
Adele recently expressed interest in appearing in films other than her own music videos, telling U.K.’s Kiss FM radio station: “I’m sure I’ll get a few flak for this, but I actually would like to act after working with Xavier”. Though it’s unclear exactly what her involvement will be, Adele will make an appearance in the film.
Hello’s music video, directed by Dolan and shot in Montreal, now has over 324 million views.
Dolan won critical acclaim with 2014’s Mommy, about a widowed single mother raising her son who is prone to violent outbursts.
