Adele turned down millions to record ‘Spectre’ song?
It’s happening…Listen to the radio from 7.45am if you’d like to hear Writing’s On The Wall.
He sings: “I’ve spent a life time running and I always get away / But with you, I’m feeling something that makes me want to stay …”
“I’m s**tting myself. With this song I don’t care about it charting and things like that”.
The 47-year-old star, who is preparing to reprise his famous role on the big screen for new 007 movie Spectre, said he was not satisfied with 2008’s Quantum Of Solace so he was determined to pull out all the stops with 2012’s Skyfall.
“I think the whole world fancies Daniel Craig”. It’s not a number one friendly song.
The responsibility for producing the song has been weighing heavily on Smith, who tweeted on Thursday: “1 more day till Writing’s On The Wall #007 xx very scared, very nervous, very excited”. I just care about doing the legacy proud.
And Sam is pleased that some people have made comparisons between his track and previous theme tune Goldfinger. The song is titled “Writing’s On The Wall”. “That’s kind of what we were aiming for”.
He posted on Twitter: “Is this the worst Bond movie theme song ever?”
Sam Smith hits the stage to perform at the 2015 Music Midtown Festival held at Piedmont Park over the weekend in Atlanta, Ga.
He said: “It’s a flawless combination of Sam meets Sam. Taking its cue from a moment in the film where Bond sees his name spray-painted on the Memorial Wall of the derelict MI6 headquarters”. It’s just a bit… meh. Adele scored an Oscar and a Golden Globe in 2013 for her Skyfall song.
