Adidas president makes it clear James Harden shouldn’t be wearing Jordans
James Harden will have to stop wearing Air Jordans because of $200 million deal with Adidas.
So adidas might not be too happy that the Rockets star is being seen around town in a pair of Nike Air Jordans on a date with girlfriend Khloe Kardashian, as TMZ Sports reported. ‘They walked in holding-hands.
The offseason was great for James Harden when he chose to ditch the Nike apparel in exchange of a contract with Adidas.
One month ago, James Harden cashed in with his feet.
While Adidas made its major investment in Harden in August, his contract as an endorser and brand ambassador doesn’t begin until October 1, meaning he doesn’t need to be fresh-dipped in stripes for another couple of weeks.
Apparently, Harden has not cleaned out his closet yet. At that point, he can not Air Jordan shoes in public. The president of Adidas North America, Mark King, told ESPN, “That’s part of the deal”. “Harden does, and he will be in our lifestyle stuff”.
Adidas’ lifestyle branch includes such entertainers as Kanye West and Big Sean, as well as athletes. “But Khloe knows that James wants an National Basketball Association Championship first. that’s his first priority”, a source dished to Hollywood Life. Adidas is already experiencing a bit of a renaissance, thanks to strong pitchmen like Damian Lillard, John Wall and Andrew Wiggins (in fact, it appears as if the brand has a claim on previous Rookie of the Year winners). “Adidas is about to be incredible”.
