Adobe And Dropbox Team Up To Simplify PDF Editing From The Cloud
Additionally, Adobe is keen to enhance its electronic signature feature to simplify the process of signing digital documents. The updates to both the apps will take a few months for iOS and Android users will have to wait until 2016.
Adobe and Dropbox are integrating their their applications and services on mobile devices, desktop, and the web for faster access to all of the mission-critical content stored as PDF files. The new version of the file can then be shared with colleagues or friends directly from Dropbox to collaborate further.
To address this concern, Adobe has announced significant new e-sign capabilities in Document Cloud that will make electronically signing documents and contracts easier than ever before. For instance, mobile users will soon be able to comment and annotate on Dropbox-stored PDFs from their smartphone or tablet using the Acrobat Reader mobile app. This functionality will hit iOS in the following months and become available for Android next year.
According to Dropbox, there are more than 18 billion PDF files in the storage provider’s repository, being one of the most common business file types in Dropbox.
Users can add their Dropbox account in Acrobat DC or Acrobat Reader on desktop.
“Ultimately, we want you to be able to work with any kind of file easily, from viewing to editing to sharing”, Thomas Hansen, Dropbox’ global vice president of sales & channel, noted in a blog post yesterday.
Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE) Document Cloud Senior Vice President as well as General Manager, Kevin M.Lynch stated that the evolved customer requirement for mobile-based use led to this advanced services.
Other than Dropbox, Adobe announced its partnership with Workday and Salesforce, specializing in electronic signatures.
Those capabilities include a new drag-and-drop Workflow Designer to help users estabish consistent signing processes for documents, additional controls for enterprise users and support for digital signatures, a more secure form of e-signature that will be required for many businesses in the European Union starting in July.
