Adr1ft delayed to Q1 2016
Oculus Rift have decided to make ADR1FT one of their launch titles – no surprises there – what this means for console gamers though is that we won’t be getting the space adventure until it has launched on Oculus, which is penned for Q1 2016, or sometime after.
It will now release on PC as a “premier launch title” for Oculus Rift, arriving the same day as the VR hardware.
Ian Howe, who is the President of 505 Games, spoke about VR and what made this deal appealing to them. The original date set the game hit stores later this month, but Oculus has hand picked ADR1FT to be one of their marquee launch titles, prompting the delay.
Adr1ft will be released onto Steam in the first quarter of 2016, and be for the Oculus platform. It is a first-person space survival game where players are stranded on a almost destroyed space station. If you’d rather play on a console – say, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One – the latest word is that “additional SKUs and platforms will be announced in the future”.
ADR1FT immerses you in a handsome and solitary science fiction world, where the environment is the enemy and your mission is to stay alive and return home safely to Earth.
505 Games has offices in Los Angeles, Milton Keynes, UK, Lyon, Munich, Milan and Madrid and a network of distribution partners within the Nordic territories and Australia. Three One Zero Creative Director Adam Orth expressed his excitement and happiness regarding today’s news.
