Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Launches Janie’s Fund For Abuse Victims
Tyler made the announcement on his social media on Monday, November 9, which also happened to be the 26th anniversary of Aerosmith’s 1989 hit song “Janie’s Got a Gun”.
“Janie’s Fund is dedicated to providing resources to hlep put the piece back together again for abused girls”. Spears and John both tweeted about the gift. “We appreciate Steven using his big voice on these girls’ behalf”.
The Ultimate Rock Icon Experience will include walking the red carpet and VIP backstage passes to Tyler’s new solo album release part and concert, as well as the chance to hang with Tyler before and after the show.
Steven Tyler says that the creation of Janie’s Fund has been a long time in the making and in fact, the song that inspired the title the band had tackled the systemic issue of child abuse as well as incest through its lyrics. Of those children past year in Tennessee, about 2,000 were girls who had been neglected or abused, according to the nonprofit.
Janie’s Fund, who partnered with Youth Villages, aims to provide funding and bring attention to those affected by the trauma of sexual abuse. More celebrities are expected to receive crates this week in honor of the “Janie’s Fund” charity.
