Afridi, Dhoni to play charity match for British Army

Despite being out of competitive cricket for almost 3 months, India’s ODI captain MS Dhoni showed he has not lost his “finishing abilities” as he smashed a boundary to win a charity game at The Oval last night (September 17).
The Rest of the World XI has the likes of Brendon McCullum, Graeme Smith, Matthew Hayden, Mahela Jayawardene, Corporal Jake Wray, Brian Lara, Abdul Razzaq, Scott Styris, Daniel Vettori, Tim Southee, Shapoor Zadran and Azhar Mahmud.
Playing for Help for Heroes XI, MS Dhoni and Virender Sehwag were the star performers of their side comprising of Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridiand South African ace Herschelle Gibbs, England Director of Cricket Andrew Strauss.
Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club, Richard Gould, thanked everyone, who took part in the fundraiser event.
The Help for Heroes team and the Rest of the World XI at the end of the Cricket for Heroes charity match at The Kia Oval.

These global cricket stars will contest the match to raise money for the ongoing support of the sick injured and seriously wounded British soldiers and their families with up to 30 per cent being allocated to overseas charities in conjunction with the invited players.
