After brief scare, the Wazzu flag made it to ‘College Gameday’

Most recently the 3-hour show broadcast live from the lawn at Tillman Hall in 2013 when the program was in Clemson prior to the games with Georgia and Florida State. According to the “Ol Crimson Booster Club”, which organizes the flag waving at each week’s location, the tradition began in 2003 to get ESPN to have their show come to Pullman as the Cougs then were highly ranked.

College GameDay is headed to Clemson for the Tigers Week 5 showdown with Notre Dame.

WSU Cougars flag lost; ESPN College GameDay streak in jeopardy?

ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced it will be coming to Death Valley. As of Friday at noon, the flag was in Mississippi.

“That was the biggest news out of the day”, GameDay senior coordinating producer Lee Fitting told me on Friday afternoon.

With GameDay in Tucson, the focus has turned to a particular flag, and whether or not it will be flying over the UA Mall Saturday morning.
