After Calling Her Arrogance ‘Breathtaking,’ Chris Christie Turns to the Camera
“I don’t think if we present him with a bill he’s gong to pay for it and this is not a negotiation of a real estate deal, ok?” He called for building a wall along portions of the border – paid for by the United States, he said – and having businesses use the E-verify system.
“She’s the one who set up the private email server in the first place and had everybody use that private email server and worse, she’s the one who wiped that private email server clean”, he said, adding that Republicans’ criticism of Clinton’s email activity is “not about politics”. “Make your profit legally”, Christie said. Christie asked. “I worked for the federal government for seven years as a U.S. attorney”.
“There is ample evidence here to criminally investigate her conduct”, said Christie, “and we haven’t even talked about the fact that any number of these emails may have contained classified information which is clearly against the law. But trust me, none of it had to do with the bridge, ‘” Christie told CNN host Chris Cuomo.
“Why don’t you just answer this question: Why’d you have your own private email server?”
“Looking back, it would’ve been better if I’d simply used a second email account and carried a second phone, but at the time, this didn’t seem like an issue”, the Democratic presidential frontrunner said in March.
In December, media reports surfaced that Christie had deleted a dozen text messages between himself and his incoming chief of staff, Regina Egea, during televised testimony by top officials of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey that the lane closures were a traffic study gone awry.
Christie also faced questions about his lagging position in the polls.
The Fox News morning show played her Snapchat joke and remarks blaming the investigation on “politics” and asked Christie to react. He plans to return to both early-voting states this week.
