Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm delivered an address at the Democratic National Convention that touted Hillary Clinton’s commitment to building an economy that leaves no American behind.
“I just don’t know frankly how a person like this would be electable”, Trump said.
U.S. Senator Nancy Pelosi said, “This moment is about the landmark progress President Hillary Clinton will achieve for families everywhere yearning for a better life, a better chance, in a better America”.
Clinton said Trump said at the Republican convention “I alone can fix it”.
“She will unify, not divide this nation and move us forward together”.
Twitter users have zeroed in on Clinton’s gleeful reaction to the celebratory balloons, with some expecting further fireworks as her presidential face-off with Donald Trump kicks off.
“Some of you are frustrated, even furious”.
“She always believes we can do better, if we come together”, Clinton said.
“Just ask yourself: You really think Donald Trump has the temperament to be commander in chief?” “And I do mean odd”, she with a mischievous twinkle.
Referring to her own historic nomination – and thereby drawing the biggest cheers of the night – Clinton said the reality of a female presidential candidate shows that “when there are no ceilings, the sky is the limit”.
More than 55 percent of voters will be women in the upcoming November elections, and Clinton is trying to reach those voters in her bid to get to the White House. The speech was filled with Hillary with showing how qualified and strong she is, how bad of a choice Trump would be and a couple laughs (although very few). “For all Americans”, she thundered, as supporters shouted down lingering protesters with chants of “Hillary”. ‘Go back out there, ‘ she said.
Throughout her remarks, particularly at the beginning, pockets of protesters jeered and booed at Clinton. But, she also said having a woman as president is good for men and boys, as breaking down all discriminatory borders is a good thing for everybody. “Grit and grace for over 40 years”.
