In this August 1, 2015, photo, bat boy Kaiser Carlile, 9, gets ready for a National Baseball Congress World Series baseball game between the Liberal Bee Jays and San?Diego Waves outside the dugout in Wichita, Kan.
Many parents at the Nuts game on Monday say the child’s death hits very close to home, even though it’s states away.
Kaiser’s family arrived in Wichita, Kansas, and was in attendance for Liberal’s game on Sunday night.
The report also noted the closeness between Kaiser and Keirsie. Ken Evans, the city’s strategic communications director, said it’s too early to decide. The boy was hospitalized in critical condition, but he died Sunday, Carlile said.
It is our goal at Eyewitness News to continue telling the story of Kaiser, the team he loved and how such an accident will shape the future of baseball and the bat boy or bat girl program.
On August 2, the Liberal Bee Jays lost a significant part of its team. “No one wrote us a book to tell us how to do this”.
“It is such an unfortunate accident and all we can do is be strong for the family”, Anderson said.
