After months of teases, Sombra’s finally confirmed for Overwatch
Sombra joins the first new character, Ana, and Eichenwald – the first additional map – as part of the Blizzard‘s plan to continue to support the game with new updates post-launch. Sombra is dubbed an infiltrator and “one of the world’s most notorious hackers” with several abilities that can disrupt enemy abilities. You can see how this would can change the balance of an engagement if Sombra is able to get off the hack as her teammates jump in to wipe out an opponent. However, her true motives are to be questioned when she lets their target go free. In that pic you could find a unusual logo, and it seems it was Sombra’s logo. The pistol fires in a short-range spread.
She has the ability to use Machine Pistols, Hack, utilize Thermoptic Camo, Translocator and EMP.
Sombra also has a “Translocator” feature which is a beacon that she can throw out and return to it while it is active.
Finally, Sombra’s ultimate is a charge that destroys barriers and shields and hacks any opponent inside an area of effect.
Well, that and the official reveal of the stealthy Sombra as the next Overwatch hero already available to try out in the PTR on PC.
During the Overwatch portion of BlizzCon’s opening ceremony, it was revealed that a new Arcade section is coming to the game. But it seems that the cat is out of the bag, as a new image as surfaced that is apparently leaked artwork directly from Blizzard. No Limits will effectively be taking the original rules from Quickplay, since Blizzard will be making major modifications to Quickplay which will prevent duplicate heroes, much like in Competitive Mode. IN DEVELOPMENT – New maps, new modes, and new ways to fight for the future! Overwatch, now an important esports title, will be getting a brand new character later this month, Sombra. Early next year, Blizzard will host a combine where top players will be invited to showcase their skill. They will be offered professional contracts, baseline minimum salaries and benefits and more.
Third on the list is something that’ll interest Overwatch players. The mode is best of nine rounds (with the same character), and according to Kaplan will serve as an even playing field for players to test their strength. “We’re building a league that’s accessible to players and fans, sustainable, and exciting for everyone involved”. What do you think of Sombra? That concept was shelved, and the team eventually landed on the hacking hero we know today.
