After surgery, Eagles fan frets: Did I miss the Super Bowl?
But for Seahawks fans (and me!), it’s already subpar.
I think it is going to be a relatively close game. This play call was and is still stupid. No one doubts the Patriots but they manage to find a chip on their shoulder all the time. We may not like either of the teams in it, but the commercials should be good.
New England, also 12-6 ATS this season, has been an excellent bet when favored by less than a touchdown.
New England’s versatility on offense will make it quite hard to keep this unit in check.
Justin Timberlake will headline the Super Bowl halftime show and is expected to perform hits off his new album, “Man of the Woods”. The Falcons should have won with a 28-3 lead, but didn’t. The Eagles have listed Cox as a full participant this week, so he should be ready to play his regular role in the Super Bowl. When I look at coaches, I’m asking myself are they making the right decisions? They are looking to win their sixth Lombardi Trophy together.
But that is all speculation.
It’s a “pick your poison” game when the Patriots offense is firing on all cylinders like it was the fourth quarter against Jacksonville.
Brady, head coach Bill Belichick and a few other players have been here before.
According to OddsShark, the Patriots will be laying 4.5 points to the Eagles on a neutral site. This team, as unlikely as they are to be here in Super Bowl 52, are trying to shoulder the pain and shoulder the load of all failures that have come before them. And with quarterback Tom Brady still at the Patriots’ helm 13 years later, it’s perhaps no surprise that the odds are in New England’s favor this time around. Belichick is the reason he has those five wins.
It’s not that the Eagles are the most endearing team in the NFL.
The Patriots will have something new installed for the Eagles.
After a couple of bad weeks at the end of the regular season in which the Eagles offense stalled against the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, that unit has been re-energized in playoff wins over the Atlanta Falcons and Vikings.
“If they’re up and can get a lead and the running game is working, stick to it”, Mebane said. “I think it will come to that”. Nick Foles stepped in, and, though he was not great over the final three weeks, he has been spectacular in the postseason.
-The Eagles are better than the Patriots in almost every defensive statistical category, especially on the ground. No coach in National Football League history has been as good as Belichick has at exploiting matchups in a game. We know what Belichick can do. But let’s not rule out Eagles coach Doug Pederson’s acumen.
You can rest assured that we have the questions, and we will be monitoring developments all throughout the offseason process, all the way down to Latrobe.
