After tweet, Sen. Cory Booker says he prays for Donald Trump
” ‘You may write me down in history / With your bitter, twisted lies / You may trod me in the very dirt / But still, like dust, I rise, ‘ ” he recited. I pray for him. “I hope that you find some kindness in your heart”.
In 2004, Barack Obama delivered a speech at the Democratic National Convention that sent him on a meteoric rise to the presidency just four years later. “I don’t want to answer his hate with hate, I’m going to answer it with love”. “Donald Trump has shown us who he really he is”.
The DNC speech made it clear – Cory Booker is perhaps the biggest rising star in the Democratic Party, one likely poised for his own presidential run in short time.
Booker, who rose to statewide and national prominence during his stint as Newark’s mayor, is no stranger to the convention spotlight.
The crowd cheered him on to the stage with chants of “Cory! If you want to go far, go together”, Sen. Day said booing is one way in which those committed to Sanders can show their irritation at being treated dismissively by Clinton’s people. We are not called to be a nation of tolerance.
“This is going to be a tough fight all the way to the end”, Casey said.
‘That if you disappear from the face of the earth, I am no better or worse off’.
The senator said that he was going to keep on taking his stance against Trump’s policies.
Meanwhile, Anastasia Somoza, who has cerebral palsy and spastic quadriplegia, responded to Trump’s mocking of a New York Times reporter with a disability in November 2015.
‘We’ve watched him demean the service of my Senate colleague. “He was a war hero because he was captured”. Like numerous speakers, she gave a shout-out to LGBT Americans – in her case it was praising the people who donated blood in the wake of the mass shooting at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, “because it could have been their son, their daughter in that club”. Yes, he took out lots of cash but he stiffed contractors-many of them small businesses, refusing to pay them for the work they’d done. “Dog.” “Fat pig.” “Disgusting”. “Here in Philadelphia, let us declare again that we will be a free people”. If Trump is hinting that his business connections have afforded him information about Booker making quid pro quo deals with Wall Street moneymen, then Trump might actually have a point. In a time when so many Americans’ careers and opportunities are stagnant, the Democrats can not afford to settle for “let’s continue as we are”-even when the alternative is a swan dive off the Trumpian cliff. He got rich while his companies declared multiple bankruptcies”, Booker said (via ABC News)”.
