Age of Mythology receives an expansion 13 years after release!
After a long gap, a new expansion pack will be released by Microsoft for Age of Mythology titled “Tale of the Dragon“, which will release on the extended version of the game instead of the original.
The announcement was made through the official blog of developer Forgotten Empire. Forgotten Empires and SkyBox Labs don’t think so, as they’re working on Tale of the Dragon, an Eastern-themed expansion for Age of Mythology over a decade after the original release. According to the games page on the Forgotten Empires site development is at 50%. But with the integration of Asian myths in the game, players could expect a new faction and campaign.
These two studios have worked on Age of Mythology: The Extended Edition, which comes with the first game and the Titan expansion.
Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) popular Age of Empires has been enjoyed by many in childhood, and every gamer looked forward to playing the latest installment of the game.
Age of Mythology transports players to a time when heroes did battle with monsters of legend and the gods intervened in the affairs of mortals. The new edition of the game gave it huge change in graphics with improved visuals on Time of Day, shadows, bump/specular maps, global lighting, antialiasing and ambient occlusion.
