Agent reveals secret behind Manchester United’s £71m move for Thomas Muller
While majority are media-driven speculations and wild rumours, but there were few for whom United showed real interest.
Giovanni Branchini, agent of Bayern Munich attacker, Thomas Muller has revealed plans of how Manchester United desperately sought for the signature of the Germany global during the last Summer transfer window.
Muller was actually given his opportunity in the Bayern senior side by the now Van Gaal back in 2008.
Muller was linked with United this summer with a few reports claiming they were willing to go as high as £100million.
According to Branchini, Muller was never going to leave the German Champions, despite United reportedly offering £71m for his services.
“Manchester United wanted Thomas Muller at all costs”, he said.
The 26-year-old has been in fine form for Bayern this term and has six goals to his name in the club’s opening seven fixtures.
The forward has gone on to win four Bundesliga titles, three DFB-Pokal trophies, two DFL-Supercups and a Champions League during his time with Bayern.
Branchini admitted United wanted Muller but that it was never likely that Bayern would let him go.
