Agyemang-Badu scores in AC Milan’s triumph over Udinese
AC Milan were reportedly interested in signing the flamboyant striker during the summer, but instead they brought in Mario Balotelli and Berlusconi is convinced the Italian side made the right decision.
“Balotelli could start, but I haven’t decided yet”.
I Azzurri scored two goals in the second half, with the last one right at injury time, to bury Stefano Colantuono’s men deeper in the overall standings. “It was a tough game, because my opponents were out to provoke me”.
Balotelli was axed from the Liverpool line-up after going the full season only netting four goals for the Reds.
Asked his thoughts on Balotelli, he said: “If I was in (Milan’s) position I would not have taken him”. “Compliments to (Milan vice president Adriano) Galliani because he got a strong player at zero cost”.
“The first half was good, it was one-way traffic and we were 3-0 up”.
Just occasionally, Mario Balotelli illustrates why there used to be so much fuss about him.
Fernandes was sent off in stoppage time amid angry protests as Udinese slumped to their fourth successive defeat since their shock opening day win at champions Juventus.
Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo set up the second goal with a long vertical pass, which Bonaventura controlled well with his chest then fired in with his next touch.
Further goals from Giacomo Bonaventura and Cristian Zapata had seemingly put the game to bed before the half-time whistle.
As impressive as the first half was for Milan, the second period was a near disaster.
Substitute Duvan Zapata’s cross found an unmarked Emmanuel Badu in the area and he drove the ball towards the far post to beat Milan stopper Diego Lopez.
On the other side, Udinese has lost three of its first four games and shown a lot of problems with finishing in front of the goal.
