AIDS Free Pittsburgh Program Aims To End New Infections By 2020

“What I say is having HIV is not going to end your life, but it is going to change it”, he said.

City health officials said the city past year had a historic-low 2,718 residents who were newly diagnosed compared with 4,397 new cases in 2004.
“It’s important to keep HIV and AIDS in the public eye because it has not gone away. More people are luckily living longer but that comes with its own problems”, he said. With the global population of young people expected to dramatically increase over the next five years, we must also step up efforts to help both young men and young women stay HIV-free, especially in the developing world.
World AIDS Day was observed yesterday and is held annually on the 1st December as an opportunity for people across the world to untie in the fight against HIV, to show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate those who have died.
