Air France flight diverted to Montreal after threat
A Paris-bound Air France flight from San Francisco had to be diverted last night because of an anonymous threat. All 231 passengers and 15 crew disembarked the plane to go through security checks, before getting back on and continuing their journey several hours later.
Air France flight 83 took off at San Francisco International Airport at around 3 p.m. local time Monday, CBS5 reports.
From New York, Air France will begin flying from JFK Airport to Paris Orly in June.
Scandinavian carrier SAS also said it had seen a drop in travel to Paris and Brussels but that traffic was returning to normal.
It said it would take all measures to send passengers safely to their destinations. Passengers on the plane told NBC Bay Area the flight was diverted due to a bomb threat.
The attacks haven’t just hurt Air France’s profits.
Air France will resume direct regular Paris-Tehran flights starting from April 2016, Reuters cited the company’s statement as saying.
Last week, Europe’s biggest low-priced airline Ryanair said it had cut prices in response to a fall in demand after the tragedy.

German airliner Lufthansa and its subsidiary Austrian Airlines have already said they planned to launch new flights to Iran.
The non-stop Paris-Teheran route was suspended in October 2008.
