Air France flight to Paris diverted to Montreal following ‘bomb threat’
Last month, two Paris-bound Air France flights from the USA were diverted because of bomb threats.
A Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport spokesperson told NBC police were investigating and checking out the plane. One of those flights was heading from LAX to Paris and was diverted to Salt Lake City.
Flight AF083 from San Francisco to the main Paris airport of Charles de Gaulle touched down just before midnight local time in Montreal (5am Irish time), the firm said. The flight was en route to Paris from San Francisco.
Local authorities are carrying out inspections.
The airline is taking care of the passengers, Air France said by e-mail Tuesday. Serval said the plane will also be checked.
Air France was one of the first airlines to operate the Boeing 747, which eventually became the flagship of its long-haul fleet.
