Aircraft crashes and burst into flames in Chigwell
Police said they were thought to be the only occupants in the eight-seater Beech 200 King Air, which came down at about 10.30am.
A light aircraft has crashed into a field and burst into flames.
A total of six fire crews and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
It is still unknown where the aircraft was flying from and two and what the cause of the crash could be.
“Upon arrival it was 100 per cent alight”.
It is unclear how many people were on board, whether they are hurt, or whether anyone on the ground has been affected.
“Crews are wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire”.
Police and other emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Chigwell shortly before 10.20am.
He said: “I’m parked in a public vehicle park in Lamourne End over looking all the fields and roads leading to the scene”.
Police have cordoned off the surrounding roads.
“There’s been reports that the plane hit a propane tank as it came down but looking at the field there are no propane tanks around”.
