‘Airlift’ enters Rs.100 crore club in India
The total collection of Airlift as of now is Rs. 102.76 crores. The movie has managed to make Rs 19 crore in its second weekend. For the actor, it is a proud moment indeed as the film has joined the 100 crore club, which is dominated by hardcore commercial flicks like Rowdy Rathore and Housefull 2, along with Holiday which was an action affair too. It released worldwide on January 22, 2016.
“Airlift” has not faced any major competition, with films like “Kya Kool Hain Hum 3”, “Mastizaade” and “Saala Khadoos” failing to ignite any magic at the box office. The film has been liked by the audience and critics alike. The lead star of the movie is Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur.
The talkie has been directed by Raja Krishnan Menon.
The storyline of the movie is dependant on the largest evacuation of Indians located in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait Gulf war.
Going by its great pace at box office and tremendous likeability factor among the audiences, the film will surely cause more ripples on the Koimoi ROI list in the weeks to come! The film is about a heroic story of a man Ranjit Katyal (played by Akshay Kumar), a wealthy and powerful Indian businessman who had always seen himself as a Kuwaiti rather than an Indian.
