Airplane crashes into UK auto auction
A fierce fire has broken out after a light aircraft crashed into a auto auction in Yateley.
A blaze broke out at the auction site based at Blackbushe Airport at 3.09pm when the Phenom 300 plane ploughed into a full auto park shortly after take-off. Andrew Thomas, who was at the center, told the BBC that “the plane nosedived into the cars and exploded on impact”.
British emergency services say a small plane has crashed onto a auto auction center at an airport in southern England.
Witnesses speaking to the Telegraph claimed the aircraft clipped a fence and flipped over before landing on a number of cars just after 3pm.
One eyewitness to the plane crash at Blackbushe said he heard a “massive crunch and bang” before there was a big explosion at the site.
The A30 had been closed both ways between A327 Cricket Hill Lane and Blackbushes Road, but has since reopened.
Ambulance and fire crews are also in attendance, police said.
“We were called at 3.10pm today”.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: “We have got four pumps and three other vehicles”.
A spokesman for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch confirmed it was “aware” of the incident and was “making inquiries”.
