AJ Styles vs. John Cena Announced For WWE SummerSlam
Here’s all the action that went down. Not only that, but he is expected to be present tomorrow on Monday Night Raw along with his client Brock Lesnar. In the meantime, The New Day are still the WWE Tag Team Champions, and it would be a shame for another tag team not to get the momentum boost of finally being the team to dethrone them.
– Dean Ambrose made his way to the ring and called out Dolph Ziggler. After the match, Rusev got on the mic to proclaim himself unbeatable when Roman Reigns (Oh god) went down to the ring & attacked The Bulgarian Brute, laying him out with a Superman Punch off the steps as Rusev was going up the ramp.
– Becky Lynch’s scheduled match with Eva Marie did not happen as she appeared to have faked an injury.
Chris Jericho & Charlotte defeated Enzo Amore & WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks when Sasha slapped Y2J Charlotte hit Natural Selection on the Women’s Champion to pick up the win. He is not projected to win the title from The Lunatic at the August pay-per-view event but he is expected to be the first of the stars who will try and fail.
“I would like to have the King of the Ring tournament on Smackdown”. A ringside distraction from Tyler Breeze caught Orton off-guard, allowing Fandango to land a dropkick.
Right now, Randy Orton (and the RKO, in particular) is as over as he’s been in years.
After the poor booking in the last match, I liked the booking here quite a bit. Orton will of course take on Lesnar, but “The Biggest Event of the Summer” is up in the air on the “SmackDown Live” side of things.
On SmackDown this week, General Manager Daniel Bryan slipped up on live television when he accidentally referred to Apollo Crews as Apollo Creed. Said opponent being Rhyno, who immediately gored Slater and left him a crumpled wreck.
There are a lot of scores to be settled on the “SmackDown” brand, but only one all-blue match has been announced for the show, and that’s Ambrose vs. Ziggler. Bray kicked out, coming back with a clothesline and a beatdown around the ring.
Two of Lesnar’s first three matches back with WWE ended with him losing clean, as he was pinned by John Cena at Extreme Rules 2012 and Triple H at Wrestlemania 29 in 2013. The GM agreed and handed him a match with Rhino next week. Ziggler came out victorious after he slammed Wyatt head into an exposed turnbuckle and then hit a Superkick for the win.
