Even so, the Bulldogs will bring a tough game and this one will be close. Kendell Beckwith and Deion Jones each have 67 tackles to lead LSU’s defense and Jamal Adams has 51 tackles and four interceptions. Mississippi State won and covered as a road favorite last weekend versus Missouri and is now 7-2 overall and 6-3 against the spread. Each team had two turnovers. “Playing against a great team like Alabama, that can’t happen”. Alabama is #7 in points allowed and #45 in scoring. He needs just 66 yards passing on Saturday to become the 12th player in Football Bowl Subdivision history with 8,000 yards passing and 2,000 yards rushing. The Crimson Tide have four pick sixes and a punt return for a touchdown this season.
Alabama’s offense is led by workhorse and Heisman Trophy candidate Derrick Henry, who leads the SEC in carries (218). He had one touchdown catch, 115 yards, and 11 receptions.
Derrick Henry ran for two touchdowns and 204 yards on 22 carries. He has a rushing touchdown in 14 straight games dating back to last season. With 300 yards through the air, the Bulldogs’ signal caller finished with a rather impressive stat line.
