Alabama Gov. Bentley defunds Planned Parenthood affiliate
Alabama became the third state in a week to pull state funding for Planned Parenthood on Thursday.
The governor is not the only one getting involved in the controversy.
“We didn’t know this kind of thing could happen in the United States”.
“I want an open bidding process”, Sununu said. There’s no excuse for callous talk about how the group is “very good” at performing abortions so that fetal hearts, lungs and livers can be kept intact and sold. The law allows abortion providers to be paid for processing fees but not to profit from fetal tissue.
AUSTIN, TX-Wednesday morning, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced his request to the Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson to immediately open a criminal investigation of Planned Parenthood in Texas. “This is like a story out of Nazi Germany”, said Sen. Bill Holtzclaw, R-Madison.
“Sometimes the procedures are longer, so then anything that we piggyback onto that for collection purposes, obviously, would have to reflect that additional time, cost, administrative burden”, Farrell said in the video. Instead, the latest tape shows an extremely offensive intrusion and lack of respect for women, with footage of medical tissue in a lab. These extremists show a total lack of compassion and dignity for women’s most personal medical decisions.
Breitbart reports that studies are underway to use organs taken from aborted fetuses to grow new ones inside of rats or mice, and the research appears to have Planned Parenthood connections.
“The deplorable practices at Planned Parenthood have been exposed to Americans, and I have decided to stop any association with the organization in Alabama”, Bentley said in a statement. Republican Gov. Robert Bentley who is an also a MD recently said that a baby’s life from conception to birth is as meaningful to him as the life of an infant.
Planned Parenthood received $528.4 million in U.S. government funds in 2013, mostly through the Medicaid program. The termination will go into effect in 15 days. “We just earlier this week kicked them out of Medicaid in Louisiana as well, canceled their provider contract, they don’t provide any abortions in Louisiana”. In 2014, $933.79 was paid for an office visit, one intrauterine device insertion and injections. What Alabamians need is more access to health care, not less. The organization says abortions comprise about 3 percent of its services.
“But it’s something that we can look at exploring how we can make that happen so we have a higher chance”, she adds.
Summary: After several undercover videos have been released to the public exposing illegal acts, Planned Parenthood’s across the nation are facing investigations.
