Alabama has same lofty goals, extra motivation
Another thing that aided in allowing the Tide to have just one practice was summer workouts. “We didn’t always spend two hours. We need somebody to take the bull by the horns this year and be that kind of player for us, and I think we have several guys who are capable of it”. “It was really helpful”.
Thursday began a series of 28 practices for the Crimson Tide as it prepares for the season-opening contest with Wisconsin in the AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Though he still has plenty of eligibility remaining, Scarbrough may well be pushing his college football career further behind the eight ball with this suspension and injury. “They obviously don’t have the experience some of our players have had in the past, so it will be an interesting challenge to get those guys to develop the confidence and the attention to detail that’s necessary to develop the chemistry in the passing game”.
Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough has been suspended for the first four games due to an NCAA violation related to amateurism, coach Nick Saban said Thursday.
Saban said Scarbrough’s rehabilitation is ahead of schedule.
“We have some talented guys at the receiver position”, Saban said.
“Our target for him is to be able to practice, increase his workload over the next what amounts to two months and hopefully, by the end of September, he’ll be able to start making a contribution”, Saban said.
Saban said wide receiver Raheem Falkins suffered a leg fracture while center Josh Casher injured his pectoral muscle during a weightlifting session.
At his press conference Thursday, Saban also provided an update on the tailback’s knee, noting the freshman can now practice “on a limited basis in a black shirt”, according to the Tuscaloosa News’ Cecil Hurt.
The team’s 2:30 p.m. practice on Sunday is open to the public with players and coaches available for autographs following practice at approximately 4:45 p.m. for 45 minutes.
