Alabama’s Reuben Foster reportedly sent home from NFL Combine after ‘heated’ incident
NFL.com reported that two of the players Foster listed refuted his claim that they witnessed what happened. “I don’t think he gets to the end of the first round”.
The Giants have picked three tight ends that appeared at the NFL Scouting Combine during Jerry Reese’s 10 drafts as general manager. “We went over my film and talked about plays and went over formations and talked about my assignment on that particular play”. Take a look at Howard and he looks like a flawless fit for the Titans. Here’s a look back at the Combine results of the Giants’ tight end draft picks under Reese. Last season at Miami he averaged 16.2 yards per catch and his eight touchdowns came at a rate of close to one every five receptions.
Foster, the top-graded inside linebacker for many teams, was scheduled to go through team interviews Friday night and testing Saturday, none of which will happen now, according to sources.
When it comes to Butt, the Giants may also benefit by way of strength and conditioning coach Aaron Wellman, who spent four years working at MI, including two with Butt.
The next chance for Foster to be in the spotlight will be next Wednesday, at Alabama’s Pro Day.
“I think every scout has his own philosophy”, said Marc Lillibridge, who has 20-plus years of experience as an National Football League agent and scout, including with the Green Bay Packers (2000-05) and Kansas City Chiefs (2005-06). I take pride in (my blocking). “Speed. And a lot of fun”.
Foster was most likely undergoing some form of a medical test on Thursday once he arrived at the NFL Combine. Does it make any difference the Titans already have one of those at the tight end position?
NFLPA president Eric Winston, reflecting on his own time at the Scouting Combine, said on Friday’s PFT Live that the general goal of the process is to “piss off” the players.
But for as impressive as Howard and Njoku might be, the intrigue of this particular class lies in its depth. Shaheen arrived at Division II Ashland in OH at 210 pounds but now is a mountain of a man.
Not only did he have a superb career with the Crimson Tide, but the 6-foot-6, 249 pounder was a dominant force at January’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., as his practice performances turn heads among the media and front office personnel.
