Alan Pardew speaks out over £25m Tottenham interest in Yannick Bolasie
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew insists Tottenham Hotspur target Yannick Bolasie will not be sold, but admits he could understand why the player would want to leave Selhurst Park. In Steven Gerrard’s case, 15 years – so it is very, very rarer and you have to keep your options open.
“Yannick is linked to other clubs all the time because he’s an exciting player but he is a Crystal Palace player and is loved by our fans”, Pardew told Goal.com.
He could have an escape route, and probably would in fact, with the South London Press reporting that several Championship clubs are ‘weighing up a move for his services’.
“I am a loyal but this is a business”, Bolasie was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
“I did not think he was great against Arsenal for a number of reasons but that does not mean to say that he will not be a match victor on Saturday”. “Opportunities to play for a top club do not swing by every day”, Bolasie said on Monday.
“Sometimes that’s the player’s decision and we stand by that, so he remains our player until such time as another club put a bid in that we accept”. He’s been brilliant for this football club and will be brilliant for this football club going forward.
Meanwhile, Pardew believes Jason Puncheon (left) deserves an England call-up as Roy Hodgson considers his squad for next month’s Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Murray had been farmed out on loan to Reading when Pardew took over at Selhurst, but he returned to play a major role in their storming finish to last season.
