Alaska hit with aftershock after earthquake
It was not immediately known if it had caused any injuries or serious damage.
The quake’s epicenter struck near Cook Inlet, about 162 miles southwest of Anchorage, and was about 50 miles deep.

Natural disaster report quickly hit Twitter and users reported feeling shaking, but there were no immediate reports of casualties in the region.
Two smaller earthquakes – a 4.0 and a 3.2 – struck within 30 minutes after the first one.
The quake, which knocked out power to thousands of residents, could be felt as far away as Fairbanks, roughly 350 miles from Anchorage, Alaska Dispatch News reported.
‘Everyone in Anchorage is awake and on Twitter right? The Homer Electric Association reported on its website that about 4,800 customers were without power early Sunday in the Kenai Peninsula. “Family is all hanging in our bed now”.
“No threat of tsunami to residents”, said the Anchorage Police Department in a release shortly following the natural disaster.
