Alcatel announces 2-in-1 Windows 10-powered Plus 10 tablet
While brands like Samsung and LG are set to launch their flagship devices later today, Alcatel has already launched its products. The tablet also has USB, micro USB, micro HDMI ports, and comes with a 5 megapixel camera as well as a 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
You’d better add that to the list, because the French phone company just announced the PLUS 10 2-in-1 tablet at Mobile World Congress. It’s a 10-incher running the full version of Windows 10, and will ship with a detachable keyboard.
“PLUS 10 is ALCATEL’s first 2-in-1 device with Windows 10, and we’re very proud of all the functionality we’ve built into it”, Alcatel’s smart connectivity GM Vittorio Di Mauro explains.
The “Plus 10” works as a normal tablet but the 10.1-inch display tablet can also be stuck into the keyboard to work as a laptop, the Verge reports. Its quad-core 1.92GHz Intel Atom Z8350 chipset with 2GB of RAM is an effective combo for basic things, even for some light video editing tasks, but it doesn’t possess the firepower to handle 4K video editing – nor is it a gamer’s choice either. It bears 32GB of memory on the board which can be further expanded up to 64GB with the help of MicroSd card slot. It, too, has a battery, and together the hybrid musters a not-insignificant 8,410 mAh, which Alcatel says should be sufficient for a solid eight hours of use.
Other connectivity features which this device embraces are Wifi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth V4.0 connectivity. Alcatel, however, has not yet released that information, though the company has revealed that it will be hitting markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America in June.
Four different colors will be offered, including metallic silver, matte white, matte volcano black, and a warm gray leather finish that’s textured.
