Alcatel OneTouch Continues Consumer Push With Unlocked Idol 3 4.7
One of the biggest deals in tech just got smaller.
The phone is called the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 4.7 and will be made available in the US and Canada towards the end of the week for $180 and up (as seen at Phone Arena).
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 4.7 will launch in the US and Canada on August 14 for $179.99 unlocked and contract-free. I loved how the smaller Idol 3 fit in my hand, and it’s even more pocket-friendly. The Idol 3 4.7 also costs around $70 less than its big sibling.
“Oh, and if the recent Stagefright security fiasco is worrying you, fret not – Alcatel revealed that the Idol 3 4.7” will be getting a security hotfix aiming to patch the gaping Stagefright hole.
The mini Idol 3 has the same 13-megapixel rear camera, but a less sharp 5-MP selfie shooter than the 8-MP one on its larger brother.
Are you interested in the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 4.7? The Idol 3 4.7 also retains two of the Idol 3 5.5’s most notable features: its front-facing speakers and its fully reversible design, the latter of which means you can use the phone upside-down and the software will adapt.
The new model has a 4.7 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel IPS display, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor. The Motorola Moto G 2015 smartphone has a starting price of $180. However, during my time with it, the phone’s display still seemed plenty bright, colorful and sharp. These JBL powered speakers sounded like they belonged on a phone triple the price, and we are hoping to find the same fantastic sound on its smaller twin.
