Alec Baldwin Says He’ll Stop Lampooning Donald Trump On One Condition
Earlier this week, Donald Trump got into a war of words against the media.
Just because the election is over doesn’t mean that Saturday Night Live is done with Donald Trump.
Witness a president who wants to “Build the Swamp”.
But Trump as played by Baldwin said, “actually that´s not why I do it”.
The sketch that apparently upset President-elect Trump included Baldwin as the president-elect uncontrollably retweeting random people instead of listening to a security briefing.
You might expect Trump to stop tuning in to a show he believes is “unwatchable”.
After the episode had ended, the President-elect took to the microblogging site and deemed SNL “unwatchable!” “Not amusing and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse”. The tweet, which was a criticism of CNN, was apparently not enough for Trump, who then added to the message before being called out by “Seth” for the edit.
The sketch continues with Baldwin’s Trump promising to “buckle down”, but minutes later he’s retweeting more people and singing “Oops I did it again”.
Baldwin said in response, “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop. Ha”. “Sad”, the Commander-in-Tweet fired off at 12:13 a.m. In fact, Trump may have figured out a way to get away with not releasing his financial documents throughout his presidency.
As Reuters story reported earlier this week, only one member of Trump’s transition team, Geoffrey Kahn, is dealing with the CIA and 16 other offices in the USA intelligence community. The episode was notorious for capitalizing on a story that had broken only a few hours ago.
This week Baldwin was back on SNL to mock Trump’s love for tweeting, and guess what happened next! In it, he and adviser Kellyanne Conway (Kate McKinnon) are seated at a desk in Trump Tower, where two suits are trying to brief Trump on Syria.
