Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reveals ambition to learn from Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that everyone in the Arsenal team including himself can learn from Alexis Sanchez and the way he applies himself on the pitch.
“For someone who doesn’t have fantastic English, he manages to communicate so well to all of us and keep the dressing room upbeat”.
“Alex is a good finisher, he gets into good positions and that is what he has to learn from him“. You can work on it, knowing where to be at the right moment. He is dedicated, focused, and hungry.
“I saw the comments from the boss that I needed more self-belief”.
“That’s positive and a sign of top-level sportsmen, but you have to find the right balance of being not happy with what you do without harming the confidence”.
His in-and-out performances looked a thing of the past as he scored a brilliant goal against Chelsea to win us the Community Shield, but he still seems to missing out on the end product.
The tenacious Chilean forward scored 16 goals to finish the campaign as the Gunners’ top scorer and returned to the goal trail with a hat trick in the 5-2 victory against Leicester on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s his everyday manner around the training ground, how he trains, his performances, how he scores goals and how defends from the front. Sometimes that can work in a negative fashion”, Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted.
Once again, Oxlade-Chamberlain started in European elite tournament, this time against Olympiacos, but the winger was unable to impress and unfortunately made a lasting impression on fans of the North London club for the wrong reasons.
“When I think about Arsenal I think he’s a massive vocal part of our team, and he proves that week after week and in training as well”.
“I’m quite critical of myself and I try to demand quite high standards of myself”, he told Arsenal.com.
‘I think that’s crucial to the team because he brings something different. “I might need to start showing that I believe in myself a bit more around [the boss]”.
