Alexandre Lacazette to remain at Lyon after transfer speculation
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas as revealed that they have offered to make Lacazette their highest played player if he decides to extend his stay at the club, but the Frenchman is yet to put pen to paper. He won’t be leaving Lyon this summer and he certainly won’t be joining Liverpool during the current transfer window.
“”Lacazette, 24, has alerted a number of top European clubs after finishing as Ligue 1’s top scorer last season with 27 goals to help OL secure second place, although Lyon coach Hubert Fournier values the striker at “€50-60 million.”
Olivier Giroud says that he’d welcome Arsenal signing a striker because of the increased competition it would bring, as well as boosting the squad.
Those performances led to widespread speculation that the 24-year-old could be set for a move either to Paris Saint-Germain or the Premier League.
In quotes taken by the Liverpool Echo, he said: “What people say doesn’t mean much. I can still work well”, he told beIN Sports.
I have shown that I’m fully committed.
“The noise (about his future) does not disturb me from working, to show to everyone who think that I have my head elsewhere that I don’t have it elsewhere”. “I have already said that I want to continue with Lyon”. I hope to have a strong season. I was happy with the way our fans reacted during the game.
“That’s life, that’s football”. Thank you to the public tonight.
“We are doing well together with a really good cohesion and the most important for me is that the team is always improving”.
