Ali G made a surprise appearance at the Oscars on Sunday Night
Last Sunday, Sacha Baron Cohen brought his most famous character to the Oscars – even though the show didn’t okay his bit ahead of time.
“They wanted me to actually present it as myself, but luckily my wife put on the Ali G beard in the disabled toilets so we managed to get away with it”.
Cohen, 44 – who presented alongside Olivia Wilde – said he enlisted the help of his wife Isla Fisher to transform him into his Staines-born alter-ego.
Ms. Mara said “Beasts of No Nation” was “one of my favorite films this year and there were two performances in that film that were two of the best performances I’ve ever seen, let alone this year, so I think it’s an important conversation to be having”. “I had to claim food poisoning”.
Host Chris Rock also got a little head’s up when Cohen began to get cold feet – as much Sacha Baron Cohen can get cold feet. How come there is no Oscra (sic) for those hard-working yellow people with tiny dongs.
“I am here representing all those that have been overlooked”, he continued.
Baron Cohen won acclaim for his stint on stage, in which Ali G poked fun at the diversity debate by calling himself “just another token black presenter” and describing the kidnap thriller Room as “a movie about a roomful of white people”.
He said: “The real question everyone wants to know is, ‘Is Hollywood racist?’ You gotta go at that at the right way”.
No shame… Sacha Baron Cohen wasn’t about to let Ryan Seacrest snub him.
