All Eagles of Death Metal Members Reported to Be Safe
Update – 4:50 p.m. CT: As BrooklynVegan points out, the French band Red Lemons posted an update to Facebook saying they were outside the venue with the members of Eagles of Death Metal when the attack took place. A source earlier told CNN there were six to eight hostage takers, citing a person they were talking to inside the venue. But according to various sources since, at least a few of the band members were already outside the theater when the attack began, although not all band members or crew have been accounted for.
In what U.S. intelligence believes could be a series of coordinated attacks, Paris soccer stadium Stade de France was also targeted, with explosions heard outside the venue. According to Wikipedia, Homme often does not tour with the band.
France has declared a state of emergency after the attacks.

“He said they were mid-set… and they heard the gunfire and couldn’t really see because of the lights and quickly all kind of hit the deck on the stage and instinctually just ran to the back of the stage, through the exit doors, and took off running”. At least 60 people have been reported dead in Paris.
Eagles of Death Metal were playing a concert at Bataclan in central Paris.

The Washington Post reports that the police have secured Le Bataclan, killing two gunmen in the process. “Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation”, reads a posting on the band’s Facebook page.
A witnesses has told Agence France-Presse that one of the attackers shouted “Allahu akbar” before firing into the crowd.
