All-Metal Samsung Galaxy A9 Announced in China
The device is expected to be announced at the press conference at CES 2016 that will be held on January 5th.
It looks like Samsung has taken the wraps off the most expensive smartphone in the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A9. Yesterday, the phone got certified by TENAA and Samsung has finally made the Galaxy A9 official in China, so we know with absolute certainty all of its specs.
The handset is rumored to come with a 6 inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the device will be powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor.
Venture Beat says that the handset can be unlocked, and used for contactless payment, via the home button-embedded fingerprint reader. It comes with 16 GB on-board storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB using MicroSD Card. Rounding out the features are a 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and 32GB of storage. It will be available in Gold and White colour variants.
The design of the Galaxy A9 is very similar to the one from other members of the new Galaxy A family (and similar to the one on the Galaxy S6 series, for that matter), featuring glass in its front and back and a metallic frame holds these pieces together.
First of all, the Galaxy A9 comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which is a bit sad since Google has already released Marshmallow for a few months now. The device also supports Wi-Fi, NFC connectivity, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and ANT+, notes WwntRadio. We will also await an announcement on when it will be released both in China and in other regions. Although TENAA didn’t reveal, the device is said to pack in a 4,000mAh battery.
