All-new E-Class (W213) spied with minimal camouflage
After that, it should be the E-Class’ turn under the spotlights, and it may be joined by the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe we’ve shown you a spy video of yesterday.
Two launches were scheduled by the luxury vehicle manufacturer before the end of the year. These two events are set to be held at the Los Angeles Auto Show. These two launches are for the SL roadster and the GLS SUV. The headlamps and taillights are hidden under tapes but their similarity with the S and C Class models is obvious.
Elsewhere, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class will mark the German firm’s return to inline-six cylinder engines in favour of V6s (excluding the aforementioned V6 hybrid model).
Other indications point to a possible extended-wheelbase Mercedes-Maybach version of the E-Class, which to us seems a bit redundant, especially when that’s technically the point of the S-Class-to be a nicer, larger and more luxurious E-Class.
Riding on the same MRA platform as its smaller brother, the next-gen E-Class will be a tad bigger than its predecessor but at the same time it’s expected to shed a few weight. We don’t get to see the interior in this short spy video but previous images sent by our photographers haven shown the dashboard with the dual screen will be sourced from the S-Class.
If the pre-production stage has already started, it will be safe to say that the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will likely make its public debut at the NAIAS in January.
