All Xbox One controllers to get full button mapping
The Xbox One continues to look more and more like a very specialized Windows 10 computer. The bundle includes a 1TB Xbox One console, one wireless controller with 3.5mm audio jack together with “Fallout 4” and three full game downloads.
“As we’ve been doing for almost two years, we’re sharing early builds with our fans, so that they can try out and provide input on new features”, said Larry Hyrb, Xbox director of programming through MN. The Xbox 360 controller will not be compatible.
Before we go any further, wrap your head around this: Elite: dicey is designed by Frontier Developments of Kinectimals and Zoo Tycoon fame. The adapter will also allow for the headset to use in-game chat and stereo audio through the headset port. Despite its full release on Xbox One from today, the game is almost in perpetual preview mode; a new expansion, titled “Horizons” will bring planetary landings into the mix.
Across the console aisle, Sony made remapping a standard feature on the PS4 in March via a software update. The Steam Controller will not only allow gamers to remap the buttons as they see fit, but load in custom pre-sets for different games.
Ybarra replied pretty swiftly with simply, “It’s coming for all controllers soon”. While it remains unclear whether or not users would be able to play background music while playing games, the feature will be available in the main menu, or when engaging in tasks such as web browsing.
Microsoft hasn’t confirmed exactly when the feature will drop, but we suspect it will be soon. Microsoft showcased the app along with games during a video streaming at E3 2015. The integration of Cortana is one of the biggest additions to Xbox, but that won’t be included in the November update of the gadget. Given a little time it’s actually quite intuitive, but there’s another simpler way to access your ship’s systems which is achieved by clicking in the R3 button.
