Alleged triggerman identified in killing of tourist, hiker
A 17-page criminal complaint filed against Lampley, 23, Sean Michael Angold, 24; and Lila Alligood, 18, accuses Lampley of personally opening fire and killing tantric teacher Steve Carter on October 5 in Marin County. After he was shot, Lampley, Angold and Alligood stole his vehicle and fled to Oregon, Marin County Sheriff’s Office officials said.
Three young itinerants accused of killing a hiker in Fairfax and a Canadian tourist in San Francisco will be tried in Marin County Superior Court for both cases.
The booking charges reveal a few new details about the suspects, who Marin County Sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman had described as “lost souls”, with no formal ID when they were arrested. The special circumstances that make the defendants eligible for the death penalty, include multiple murders, lying in wait, committing murder in the course of a robbery.
