Allegiant Air expanding Las Vegas flights at CVG
The latest announcement comes less than a month after American Airlines said it will add two daily nonstop flights between Memphis worldwide Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airport.
Low-fare hungry fliers continue to convince Allegiant Air to expand at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky worldwide Airport.
“We are very pleased to announce these new flights so soon after launching new service to Memphis”, said Jude Bricker, senior vice president of planning at * a href=”http://www.memphisdailynews.com/Search/Search.aspx?redir=1&fn=&ln=Allegiant+Travel” class=”learn” rel=”.
Allegiant Air will service ABIA to Memphis worldwide Airport beginning October 1.
Alliegant also just added twice-weekly routes from Memphis to Austin, Texas.
The new Memphis routes come after a hard period for the airline.
Seats are limited. Price includes taxes and fees.
Allegiant Air also has extended its seasonal nonstop flights to Savannah-Hilton Head from CVG until November 29. Frontier plans to resume the service in March or April, CVG officials said. Last May, the airline added flights from the Tennessee airport to Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas and Orlando-Sanford.
In addition to providing a replacement flight, Allegiant Air gave passengers impacted by the emergency landing $100 in flying credit to make up for the inconvenience. That’s the highest monthly percentage of discount-carrier passengers in the traditionally high-fare airport’s history.
“This announcement is yet another step for the Memphis worldwide Airport”, said Pace Cooper, Airport Authority board chairman.
