Allison Road Kickstarter cancelled, Team17 partnership announced
The indie studio behind horror title Allison Road has cancelled the game’s Kickstarter campaign because it’s been offered a publishing deal.
Things weren’t looking too hot for the Allison Road Kickstarter campaign.
You can check out the full Kickstarter update by following the link. Unfortunately, there was still well over $100,000 left to reach the game’s funding goal at the time of the campaign’s cancellation.
Those who have already pledged on Kickstarter won’t be charged, but the dev team does promise to get these backers involved with the game in a few way further down the line.
There’s no word on whether Allison Road is on track for it’s original “end of 2016” predicted release date.
“Working with Team 17 will give us the chance to make our game unhindered creatively, but at the same time will give us the resources, support and experience that only a 25-year-old studio can give”.
Allison Road has a received a lot of attention due to its similar feel to Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro’s now dead project, Silent Hills P.T. The game’s developer Lilith Ltd. has partnered with publisher Team17 to help fund the game.
That said, they followed that up with: “We are delighted to announce that we will be joining Team17’s highly successful games label”.
Did you contribute to the Allison Road Kickstarter campaign? They’ve recently become publishers themselves, doing publishing duties on games like The Escapists and the Banjo Kazooie spiritual successor, Yooka-Laylee. Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments.
