Almost 200 Oklahoma high school seniors named semifinalists in National Merit
NDA seniors, Andrea Davis, Carly Gross, Kelsey Sucher and Lily Thaman, were among the 16,000 Semifinalists named in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

This list of semifinalists from the Harvard-Westlake class of 2016 is below. Ivan Trujillo, Kim Vo, Rachel Wallstrom, Katherine Wang and Colin Wilburn. “We are extremely proud of these students”.
Sun will have the opportunity to become a merit finalist and compete for a National Merit Scholarship, which will be announced in April. These seniors can continue in the competition for one of the 7,400 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million offered next spring.
Four students from Notre Dame Academy have been named National Merit Semifinalists. Also in attendance were Superintendent Dr. Kurt Steinhaus, Assistant Principals Renee Dunwoody and Carter Payne, Athletic Director Ann Stewart and other guests.
The initial screening process started when the scholars were juniors and took either the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Additional selection criteria included a scholarship application that detailed outside activities, leadership roles, employment and honors. About 1,000 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards will be provided by approximately 250 corporations and business organizations for Finalists who meet their specified criteria, such as children of the grantor’s employees or residents of communities where sponsor plants or offices are located.
