Alshon Jeffery: Listed as questionable
When the Chicago Bears traded Brandon Marshall to the Jets this offseason, the plan was for Alshon Jeffery to take the next step as the franchise’s #1 receiver for the foreseeable future.
Jeffery’s downgraded practice participation doesn’t ensure his absence, as the Bears also held out a bunch of other players who practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday and Thursday. When Slauson was at guard it was rookie Hroniss Grasu getting a few work with the ones at center.
The Chicago Bears will once again be without one of their best offensive linemen on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, as Jermon Bushrod has been ruled out of the game with a concussion.
“As soon as [Jeffery is] ready to go, it’ll be interesting to see kind of how we evolve and adapt and try and use him to his strengths and get him rolling”, offensive coordinator Adam Gase said.
But that’s not all the injury woes for the Bears’ o-line.
Omameh and Long aren’t the only Bears receiving the questionable designation, in all there are 13 players that are 50/50. It will be surprising if decisions on Royal and Jeffery are announced before Sunday morning. He is listed as doubtful on the Bears’ injury report as he continues to deal with an ankle issue.
Talk about a laundry list – it might be easier for Bears coach John Fox to list the players who aren’t injured rather than those who are this week.
