Alvaro Negredo rejects rumours of Valencia exit
And now, with just two weeks to go until the new season kicks off, Valencia are hoping to take advantage of Arsenal’s fruitless search by offering them a deal to bring Negredo to the club.
Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo attempted to dismiss rumors of a possible departure, insisting he has no plans to leave the La Liga club.
Former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo says he has no intentions of leaving Valencia, despite reports linking him with a move away from the Mestalla this summer.
“There’s a lot of talk and I want to end it here and now”. My plan is to stay.
Having spent the season on loan with Valencia, the Spaniards don’t want to spend the £10m they owe Manchester City for his services after he managed just six goals in 33 appearances last term.
“My priority is to stay, I’m calm and I’m here to keep working hard”.
They duly did and despite Negredo returning for pre-season training in much better physical condition, Nuno prefers other players in his position. “The majority of the things said are not true, I read that I was absent and that I wasn’t happy”. I know I didn’t do well last season, I want to do things better and I want to give the team many more goals. “They’ve just exercised the purchase option and it would be unusual, but in football anything can happen”.
