Amanda Nunes slams Ronda Rousey as always being overrated
Rousey struggling on the feet in the striking department as she has in her last two outings showed exactly why Parillo and Justino’s camp were eager to fight The Rowdy One.
“Returning to not just fighting, but winning, was my entire focus this past year”, Rousey wrote.
On what Rousey should do next: “At the end of the day, I’m her friend, and my heart goes out to her, so I don’t want to sit here and talk about what she could’ve, would’ve, should’ve done”.
“When she lost, not only was she devastated, but she admitted that some thoughts that went through her head were not good ones”, Coachman said of Rousey. I’d better be ready.’ And if you could see a guy two or three times, then you’re like, ‘well, I’ll catch him in an hour or two hours later’.
Ever since Rousey lost her title to Holly Holm last November, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over her future as an MMA fighter, with many analysts predicting that the former Olympic medallist would likely pursue a career in Hollywood besides making appearances in the WWE. “‘Thank you so much”. Of course I had to take my time and put everything together.
“What she does next will truly determine her legacy”, Jones wrote. I want wrestling fans to understand that this is not a guess, or an educated guess. “It was the death – and she had said – of who she wanted to be and what she wanted to be”. There are a lot of money involved, a lot of TV contracts involved, and I get it.
Nunes was well aware of Rousey’s weakness in the stand-up game, and called out Rousey’s controversial coach, Edmond Tarverdyan, for his game-planning. She’s super competitive. Maybe she wants to, I don’t know, we’ll see what happens.
“Maybe she just needs to complement her coach with an MMA family”, Jones wrote.
But maybe Nunes will give Rousey a reason to come back for a rematch.
An excellent wrestler with improving all-around skills, the 25-year-old prospect has a date with veteran grinder Darren Elkins at UFC 209 on February 11 in Brooklyn.
In a separate report from TMZ, Rousey’s mother AnnMaria De Mars, also a former champion judoka, said that she’d prefer if her daughter retires from the sport completely. “I am very proud of my daughter”.
