Amanda Seyfried to play a “pivotal” role in Twin Peaks sequel
TV Line, who have the scoop, suggest she might even be the offspring of doomed lovers Cooper and Annie (Heather Graham).
Let’s hope Amanda Seyfried likes coffee and cherry pie – the actress is reportedly returning to TV on Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” revival.
According to TVLine.com, Seyfried’s role in the series is being kept a mystery, but her character is said to be “pivotal” and she is expected to appear in “multiple episodes”.
Filming is now underway in Washington. Likewise the ostensible premiere date has been pushed back from 2016 to sometime in 2017.
The updated series marks Amanda’s first television gig since leaving HBO’s “Big Love” in 2011.
The show ran for two seasons up until 1991, and in 1992 was followed up with a feature film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.
Twin Peaks first aired in 1990, with the plot revolving around an investigation into the murder of Laura Palmer (played by Sheryl Lee) carried out by FBI team headed by Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan).
In an earlier interview Showtime Networks president David Nevins announced that the follow-up series from David Lynch and Mark Frost would be starting this month, with Lynch set to direct all episodes. The production will then continue in Southern California, and will continue in L.A. until May of 2016. Who are the other characters that you want to see return on the show?
