Amazon $10 Discount On First Alexa Prime Day Order
Analysts estimate that in 2015, Amazon’s Prime Day earned for the American ecommerce giant between $350 million and $400 million.
As with Singles Day, which heavily overshadows even Black Friday with its record $9.3 billion in sales for Alibaba alone, Prime Day is becoming an increasingly important date on the retail calendar. Actually, one could think of Amazon’s much-hyped Prime Day shopping event as Christmas or Cyber Monday in July. Some of these deals are extremely time-limited, so you won’t want to waste any time to take advantage of them.
More recently, Alexa got the ability to help you shop, allowing users to order millions of items off Amazon through voice commands.
Amazon is making a big push into voice-enabled purchasing by offering a series of deals to people who order items using its Alexa virtual assistant. The assumption, of course, was that Amazon would eventually align Alexa with its core mission, getting you to buy things.
Amazon said it plans to offer plenty of deals across its wide selection, with a special focus on TVs and toys.
Both deals start today, and run through to the end of Amazon Prime Day. There appear to be twelve Alexa-exclusive Prime Day sales in all, but three of those are already live, giving Alexa users an early glimpse at what we might look forward to when Prime Day arrives next week. That is no longer the case as you can change the default music service to that of Spotify, or Pandora or back to the default music service of Amazon Prime Music. They also encourage Prime members to make more purchases through Amazon, whether for convenience or pricing purposes. Similar to Prime, Walmart shoppers can pay an annual fee to receive unlimited two-day shipping with the Shipping Pass service.
