Amazon launches one-hour delivery service in Raleigh
In an anticipated move, e-commerce behemoth Amazon has launched a two-hour, hyperlocal express delivery platform, which will look to deliver household products through a separate mobile app. Amazon Now, as it’s being called, went live in Bengaluru.
Want something like paper towels or milk or even a new computer, don’t want to leave the house, and get that shopping item in an hour? Two-hour delivery is free and and one-hour delivery is available for $7.99. The app will allow users to order everyday essentials.

Amazon has tied up with retail chains like Big Bazaar, Reliance Fresh, Godrej Nature’s Basket, BPCL In & Out, Food World, and Good Food. “We are excited to expand that service to include more selection, more pincodes and invite other branded retailers, with the launch of a dedicated Android app Amazon Now”. You can now. Amazon on Thursday is launching its “Prime Now” service in Raleigh. Amazon is also offering a 20 percent cashback on all orders above ₹250, with a maximum cashback of ₹100 per order.
The launch comes at a time when grocery delivery start-ups like Grofers and PepperTap are either shutting operations in certain cities or re-working on expansion plans to optimise costs. In India, there is no Amazon Prime, thus the service is referred to as Amazon Now.
